Halloween Pumpkins

I have been absolutely slammed as of late because I have been trying to find a job. Consequently, I have not been able to fish much. However, I was able to sneak out between interview days for some Halloween (pumpkins) redfishing, it was certainly worth the effort.

After my friend Jarek and I caught our bait we subsequently headed out to our usual cast of reliable spots. It was a short trip as we got on the water later than expected and the tide wasn’t quite right, but as I mentioned in my last post, sometimes the best time to go is simply just when you can.

Our greatest success actually came at a new spot that we hadn’t tried before, sometimes prospecting on varying tides can be a successful tool for finding new schools of fish.

In Conclusion

We caught 13 redfish, a solid trout and a baby barracuda. While most fish were just under slot, it was great to be able to pull on these guys all day and see some super gorgeous fish.

In other words, we slayed.

If you want more information about redfish, then check out the FWC website, they have tons of great info!

Additionally, check out any of my posts as well, such as Cloudy with a Chance of Reds and Red Army.

Until next time, Tight Lines!
